Border Force officers to strike over Christmas

PCS members employed by the Home Office on passport control will take action at London Heathrow, London Gatwick, Manchester, Birmingham, Cardiff and Glasgow airports on December 23, 24, 25, 26 28, 29 and 30 and 31.

Members will also strike at the Port of Newhaven on the same dates.

Snowfall on Sunday evening caused severe travel disruptions across the Network Rail infrastructure in south-eastern England. The organisation has said delays will continue today, December 12 2022, and the forecast predicts problems caused by snow, ice and fog will likely persist throughout the week.

At the same time, there are national industrial strikes planned for December. Actions are scheduled for Tuesday, 13 and Wednesday, December 14, as well as Friday 16 and Saturday, December 17, by the RMT union, Also, from 18:00 Saturday 24, to 06:00 Tuesday, December 27.
