RAIL FREIGHT

Further rail strikes announced in May and June

The National Union of Rail, Maritime and Transport Workers, RMT, called a 24-hour rail strike for May, just hours after the train drivers’ union Aslef announced three separate days of rail strikes in May and June. The Aslef strike will happen on 12 May, followed by the RMT strike on 13 May. Further drivers strikes will be held on 31 May and 3 June. Free advice to help businesses reduce road accidents and cut fleet costs in the West Midlands

A new partnership between Transport for West Midlands (TfWM) and Driving for Better Business (DfBB) has made free advice available for businesses on better managing their fleets and vehicles to reduce costs and the risk of accidents. The DfBB programme offers online tools and resources to take business owners, company directors and fleet managers through seven steps to better driver management.
